SARIL Pathways workshop invitation and sign-up

We are happy to officially invite you to the online SARIL Pathways workshops.

The EU-project  SARIL (Sustainability And Resilience for Infrastructure and Logistics networks) is organising a series of three online workshops to discuss how to resiliently and sustainably respond to disruptions facing freight transport systems. Disruptions could include weather and climate related events, such as flooding and avalanches or war and social unrest.

In this second Pathways workshop on the 9th of April from 10:00-12:00, we want to engage especially the strategic level in the following types of companies:

  • Goods owners and production companies, especially shippers
  • Logistics and transport companies.

Others interested are of course also welcome.

Making sustainable choices in freight transport planning when disruptions happen is a challenge for many in the freight transport system. The SARIL project works on several tools that could help remedy this, such as route planning, transport planning and transport simulations in responding to disruptions. More information about the project can be found here:  SARIL | Sustainability And Resilience for Infrastructure and Logistics networks

However, we need the industry's input on how this could be done in a beneficial way, so it is useful for you. For this workshop, the consortium wants to discuss the following question with goods owners and transport companies:

How can the SARIL tools be integrated into your existing systems to encourage you dependent on or providing freight transport to make more environmentally sustainable, yet also cost efficient, choices in the face of disruptions?

The workshop will give insight into the ongoing work of SARIL and its toolkit for dealing with disruptions, especially focusing on sustainable decision making and transport planning.

Save the dates!

  • First SARIL Pathways workshop: 18th of March (completed)
  • Second SARIL Pathways workshop: 9th of April
  • Third SARIL Pathways workshop: 7th of May

For questions, please contact:

In the first workshop we discussed the ambitious vision of a Joint platform for providing information and solutions in response to disruptions to a wide range of stakeholders within freight transport.

The topic for the last workshop 7th of May will concern the operative level, and technical opportunities for real-time detection of disruptive events (e.g., through different types of sensors) and cybersecurity. However, topics are still open for adjustments.

Sign up for the second workshop: 9th of April

Deadline for signing up is 8th of April
