Offshore Integrated Planning and performance management

Sammendrag

This paper presents Integrated Planning (IPL) as a means to improve decision making through new ways of working utilising real time information to collaborate across social, professional, organisational and geographical boundaries. The study is based on data from existing practice in planning and scheduling of maintenance work in an oil and gas company operating at the Norwegian continental shelf. The purpose of IPL is to coordinate the massive amount of information found in a variety of plans made by several disciplines into one holistic view of work that must be performed in an asset in any given period of time. One of the goals is to optimise use of common resources like logistic support and maintenance expertise. An important tool in establishing this work process is the performance management system. The paper focuses on challenges identified in implementing an IPL concept and points to factors that must be emphasized to obtain efficient integrated planning and operations.
