Flexible Organisation of Multimodal Travel Information Services

Sammendrag

The MultiRIT framework architecture is based on ARKTRANS and arranges for establishment of new and improved multimodal travel information services. Such services will support the traveller in all phases of the travel process and encourage the use of public transport in combination with walking, cycling and use of private cars. Open services for exchange of travel information and provision of travel information services are defined and tested according to a method inspired by action research. The motivation for this paper is to address the potential of the open services, i.e. how they arrange for flexibility in travel information value chains and organisation of travel information services, and how they arrange for value added travel information services.
