This report summarizes modelling work on oxidative ladle refining of metallurgical grade silicon performed within the Flow Technology group at SINTEF Materials & Chemistry. The content is quite theoretical and mathematical. The reader not interested in such details may still study the introduction, the results-chapter and the conclusion.
