Integration of offshore wind farm with oil and gas platforms - Dynamic Performance of Wind Farm Integration to Five Offshore Platforms Without Onshore Grid Connection

Sammendrag

This document describes a case study of a 100 MW offshore wind farm integrated with 5 offshore oil and gas platforms, without any connection to the onshore electric grid.
The study involves an assessment of the stability of the system and conformance with power quality requirements.
The main attention is given to voltage levels and losses during steady conditions, and voltage fluctuations and frequency deviations during various dynamic events. These events Include normal operational events like start-up of a large induction motor, and extraordinary events like sudden loss of wind production and loss of platform interconnector.
The system configurations, simulation cases and results presented here should be considered preliminary work intended as a good foundation and starting point for the second round of simulations that will constitute the main deliverable of Task 2 of Nowitech Work Package 4.
