Sammendrag
This paper presents the research plan for the PhD study on sustainable binders for quick clay stabilization. In part 1 the impact of salts with varying cations and anions on the rheological properties of treated clay is investigated, using a parallel plate rheometer, ICP-MS and zeta potential measurements. Some preliminary results are presented. In part 2, the reactions of cementitious materials such as Portland cement and lime in quick clay are investigated using typical techniques to study cement hydration, i.e. SEM-EDS, TGA and XRD. This to understand and quantify the reactions and their contribution to the stabilization of quick clay. The aim is to propose recommendations for the composition of more sustainable binders for quick clay.
