Innovation through Opera Software’s MyOpera community

Sammendrag

This paper presents findings from an ethnographic study of communication and interaction in
the MyOpera community. This community has evolved from a technical community to a
social media arena. The transformation of MyOpera opens up for new types of users joining and participating, leading to improved user representations. We argue that user contributions and user interactions can lead to innovation, and that feedback and interaction in many situations can be seen as incremental innovations.
