Robust Optics for Image Sensing

When spatial and depth information is favoured over single point measurements, we develop optics for 2D or 3D imaging measurement systems.

Contact person

Our role is in producing images with sufficient quality for extracting relevant information, and can include tasks such as illumination design, wavelength selection, optimisation of optical geometry and fundamental camera characterisation. We often work closely with our colleagues in the Computer Vision group so that robust optical design is innovatively combined with advanced computer vision and image analysis to address the challenges of the application.

We work in projects on process monitoring, manufacturing, autonomous vehicles, space robotics and underwater camera surveillance & navigation.
