SINTEF does research to investigate how we can exploit solar energy as a contribution to securing a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the future.

Solar energy is becoming more and more competitive and is experiencing a strong growth. SINTEF has competence and activities along a large part of the PV value chain, from development of new materials and concepts to building integration of PV modules and integration of PV in energy systems.

Furthermore, SINTEF has a great experience within use and exploitation of thermal energy. With a broad portfolio of expertise, we can also provide supporting knowledge within e.g. life cycle analysis and digitalization with an interdisciplinary approach.
