Trends in production control; Lean and IT

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

Traditionally, the use of IT has been considered contradictory to the lean manufacturing philosophy. Many point out that the two approaches are mutually exclusive. On the contrary, in this SMARTLOG seminar, we address how IT systems can be used to support lean principles in the context of modern production control.

Purpose:

  • To present current trends in industrial practices and emerging research developments in production control
  • To create synergies between researchers and industrial participants
  • To discuss needs of industrial applications and future trends in research activities
