SINTEF Nord AS

SINTEF Nord, a branch of the SINTEF foundation, is located in Tromsø and Kirkenes. We specialize in research and development focused on Norway's northern regions, providing valuable R&D services to industries, businesses, and public management.

With a team of 18 highly skilled employees, SINTEF Nord focuses on areas such as fisheries and aquaculture, information technology, maritime operations, and mineral resources.

Our mission is to drive the green and digital transitions and foster local value creation in the north. We collaborate closely with businesses to enhance their competitiveness.

Snow Crab Facts develops a knowledge base on the snow crab fishery, examining how regulation and delivery models affect value creation, employment, and coastal communities in Northern Norway.

DABB - Developing a system for data collection and analysis for stock assessment and decision support

We develop systems for the collection of hydroacoustic data in commercial fishery, with processing and analysis methods enabling use in stock assessment and precision fishery.

ReCirc4Future – Harnessing novel processing tools to reveal a fully circular approach for total utilisation of side streams from the omega-3 industry

The ReCirc4Future project will explore novel exploitation of the side streams crude glycerol, urea fatty fraction and spent bleaching earth, that arise from omega-3 production.
