EMPS - multi area power-market simulator
EMPS (EFI's Multi-area Power-market Simulator) is a tool for forecasting and planning in electricity markets. It has been developed for optimization and simulation of hydrothermal power systems with a considerable share of hydro power. It takes into account transmission constraints and hydrological differences between major areas or regional subsystems.
Integrate Europe is an in-house model developed by SINTEF to assess the challenges of the energy transition at the European level. The model can optimise the investments in infrastructure for most relevant energy carriers, including electricity, heating, cooling, natural gas, hydrogen, waste, and biomass, and the conversions between these.
