Smart Building Hub (SBHUB) is an e-infrastructure that will make detailed data from buildings available for research and development. Storing, organising and making data available for interdisciplinary analysis, research and innovation will be of great importance for the development of smart cities and zero-emission areas.
To bridge the gap between R&D on energy-efficient and flexible buildings on the one hand, and R&D on smart grids on the other, it is necessary to have detailed measurements, at hourly resolution (or finer), of electricity, heat, local energy production and indoor climate parameters.
At present, there is no infrastructure in Norway that gives researchers and developers access to this data in a well-organised way. Smart Building Hub will solve this, and we will then gain better insight into and understanding of how buildings can help realise the renewable society while also being healthy places to stay in.
