WP7 Economic evaluation
Objectives: Socio-economic assessment of the low impact gear developed in WP4 and WP5.
Description: This case study will assess the socio-economic benefits, the effective viability, and the economic potential of implementing more energy efficient fishing gear. The modifications will influence fuel consumption and catch composition, which affect running costs and incomes respectively. Furthermore, the benefits for the environment coming from the implementation of more eco-friendly fishing gear will lead to economic added value. This work package will use the results from the case studies of WP4 and WP5.
