RightFish

End-of-year wrap-up 2023

Teams screenshot of five people and a slide with the text Happy Christmas to everyone.
The first year of RightFish is now over. During 2023 the project’s PhD student has started his work at DTU Aqua in Hirtshals, and the initial literature reviews have been done on the fuel consumption and bottom contact of existing fishing gear.

Some of the tests in the flume tank have been completed, with more to follow already in January 2024, and the full-scale trials are being planned.

In February of 2023, our Project Leader Barry O’Neill from DTU Aqua presented the project at the ICES Working Group for Fisheries Technology and Fish Behaviour meeting in Kochi, India. The presentation can be found here (pdf).

After meeting in person in Hirtshals for the kick-off, and in Rome for a trial planning meeting, 2023 ended with a digital Annual Meeting in December (unfortunately some project members had to leave the meeting before the snip was taken). Happy Christmas, and see you in 2024!
