Research
Research will be carried out, in accordance with the project objectives, in three sub-projects, focussing on:
Fundamental modelling & model development
This sub-project will focus on model development, i.e. improved fuel/fuel bed and gas release models, heat-exchanger deposition models and reduced kinetics models (NOx); and validation of these.
CFD tool development
This sub-project will focus on simulations, i.e. transient and steady state CFD simulations of BtE and WtE plants; and validation.
BtE and WtE plant concept improvements
This sub-project will focus on concept improvements, i.e. BtE and WtE plant case studies selection, setup, simulations and analysis, giving design and operational guidelines.
