INTERACT

INTERACT

INTERACT shall develop methods, models and tools for efficient energy interaction between energy demand, surplus heat/cool and thermal storage and third part deliverance to the district heating/cooling.

INTERACT project illustration

The project is divided into five work packages (WP), each divided into several tasks.

  • Surplus heat/cool flows - WP1
  • Dynamic thermal storage - WP2
  • Surplus heat/cool and DHC interaction - WP3
  • Barriers and enablers - WP4
  • Management and Dissemination - WP5

Surplus heat/cool flows - WP1
The major objectives of WP1 are to identify the differences between calculated/design and measured loads/performance of already existing building complexes and to reveal the mismatch between energy load and demand for building energy systems. Thus, the potential for heat/cool recovery will also be investigated.

Dynamic thermal storage - WP2
The major objectives of WP2 are to develop models and tools of two different methods for thermal storage; geothermal and accumulation tanks and further enable energy interaction between hourly or daily and seasonal thermal storage and buildings

Surplus heat/cool and DHC interaction - WP3
The main objectives of WP3 are to provide suitable cost efficient solutions for energy system integration based on energy demand. WP3 will merge results from WP1 and WP2, but also expand the methods to cover third party deliverance to DHC.

Barriers and enablers - WP4
The main objectives of WP4 are to map the technical, political, legal, economical, social, and organizational barriers and enablers for the realization of energy efficient integrated systems in practice.

Management and Dissemination - WP5
The main objectives of WP5 are project coordination, reporting to the steering committee set by the project owner and to the Research Council of Norway, and ensure dissemination between the project participants and others through meetings, workshops and publications.
