Fundamental models of PCM properties and behaviour

  • Elaborate numerical models representing the thermodynamic, chemical and behavioural properties of selected PCMs suited for low-temperature applications.

Advanced designs of PCM-TES units

  • Develop reliable, experimentally validated designs of durable PCM-TES units with high heat transfer rates and high storage capacity.

Dynamic system models and integration

  • Determine the best technical solutions for integration of PCM-TES in selected industrial processes and optimize the corresponding PCM-TES unit designs through dynamic system modelling.

Experimental pilots testing

  • Design and build lab-scale pilots of the optimized PCM-TES units and carry out measurement campaigns to validate the simulation results under varying thermal loads.
