SINTEF Industry Drilling and Well
Drilling and well
SINTEF combines theoretical work with laboratory experiments and field experience, and focuses on making results from the work available for operational team, in order to contribute to faster, safer and cheaper drilling and well operations while also caring for the long term integrity of the wells.
The main goal of KOPROD is to demonstrate methods and technology solutions for future competitive production of complex, small and medium volume products for cost-sensitive markets. The project is financed by the Norwegian Research Council's BIA-program.
INNO-Drill – Technology platform for research-based innovations in deep geothermal drilling
The main goal of INNO-Drill project is to extend, demonstrate, and make available a research-based technology platform to enable new and significantly more cost effective drilling tools and systems for deep geothermal wells in hard rock formations.
Electrophoresis to improve well construction?
Well construction in oil & gas and geothermal industries becomes increasingly complex and costly as the target depths increase. New ways to reduce costs and improve safety are therefore actively researched. Electrophoresis , a physicochemical effect known from the early 1800s, may help in reducing costs in drilling and well construction. In particular, it may facilitate cleaning of the equipment. It also may reduce energy consumption when drilling fluid and cement are pumped into the well.

Video - i4plastics aims to be a forerunner
One century ago, almost no plastic was used by mankind. Today, plastic products have infiltrated nearly all aspects of our private and professional lives. The next important transition will be the use of renewable resources for producing plastics and finding new value for plastics after its end of life. i4plastics aims to be a forerunner in this transition.
