About the Department Materials and Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology enables the development of new materials and miniaturized systems. SINTEF is a key player in translating nanoscience into new products in a sustainable manner.

With state-of-the-art laboratories and modeling facilities, we analyze the structure of materials and the properties of products. By measuring, describing, modeling, controlling, manipulating, and structuring materials at the micro- and nanometer scale, we can develop new and improved materials and products that will play a crucial role in addressing the societal challenges we face.
