Abstract
Modelling and measurements go hand in hand. The developer needs to control results from his program against measurements to ensure that the model gives correct answers. The paper gives an overview of the development phase of NORTIM and the measurement campaigns that were conducted to ensure the accuracy of the program. Measurement results were used both to choose calculation methods and in correction of the noise database.
