Project description:
The increased number of prosumers in the distribution grid has triggered the need for developing new methodologies and recommendations helping the Distribution System Operators to solve challenges related to planning, projecting, building, operation and maintenance of the distribution grid. The ProAktiv project is focusing on challenges related to grid planning and will contribute to reduced risk exposure related to the grid investments.

Background:
Good planning is a prerequisite to be able to select the best investments in the distribution grid, and to prevent over- and under investments. According to NVE the expected grid investments in the distribution grid towards 2027 are 40 billion NOK (without smart meters included). It is important to include prosumers when planning the future grid.

ProAktiv is focusing on expected profiles for prosumers – both for consumption and generation (feed in to the grid). Other projects such as SPESNETT and REPLAN is focusing on voltage quality and grid planning and give an important input to a more overall grid planning.
