Risk Based DTR Operation (WP1)

Contact: Iver Bakken Sperstad (SINTEF Energy Research)

Reserach question: Can DTR models be used to reduce margins in risk-based operation of the power grid without compromising on the reliability of supply?

Transformers (WP2)

Contact: Camilla Espedal (SINTEF Energy Research)

Reserach question: Can HAM be used to parameterize transformer thermal models when specific information such as geometry and heat run tests are missing, and what data is required for acceptable accuracy, and can the integration of new thermal, moisture diffusion, and paper degradation models with a tank-mounted moisture sensor accurately estimate the lifetime of in-service transformers?

Cables (WP3)

Contact: Runar F. Mellerud (SINTEF Energy Research)

Reserach question: Can HAM combined with HiFi cable models be used to make precise DTR models that are applicable for a wide range of laying condition, cable geometries and load patterns?

Distribution Substations (WP4)

Contact: Håvard Bærug (SINTEF Energy Research)

Research question: Can a reduced-order model be used for sufficiently accurate virtual sensing of critical temperatures in a distribution substation?

Hybrid Analytical Modelling (WP5)

Contact: Adil Rasheed (NTNU)

Research question: How can the integration of domain knowledge, sparse measurements, and advanced artificial intelligence methods enhance predictive tools by effectively accounting for unmodeled physics, simplifications, and uncertainty in input parameters?
