Accurate measurements of flow rate in oil wells are crucial for optimal control of production. This is important both to utilize the resources of the wells optimally and avoid unwanted incidents. Initially, SINTEF should contribute to reliability testing of critical components. But the project has been extended multiple times to also include development and test of down-hole high-temperature electronics and embedded software.
Clock test / Electronics development
The objective of the project is to assist in development of cost-effective tools for measurement of flow rate in oil wells, and hence get improved utilization of wells.
