Charging profiles and user behaviour - WP2

Contact person

To be able to utilise the flexibility in EVV, knowledge about charging profiles and user behaviour for different types of EVV is necessary. Thus, this WP focuses on research question Q2, and aims to develop charging profiles that can be used for load modelling of different types of EVV. The WP is divided into three subtasks:

Task 2.1 – Transportation needs and patterns

Investigate the present and projected development of transportation needs and patterns. Analyses in this task will be based on available data and models for representing the transport activity. The primary focus will be on utilising existing databases for the estimation of scenarios for transport needs and patterns, in close cooperation with Task 2.2.

Task 2.2 – User behaviour of EVV

Analyse user behaviour for different types of EVV, including geographical/demographical differences. This will be based on expected development within the different transport segments, as well as expected development in technology and user behaviour. In addition to technical activity data and surveys, real or theoretical consumption profiles for EVV will be used. This involves an extensive data collection from vehicles and vessels in relevant sectors.

Task 2.3 – Charging profiles for EVV

Develop charging profiles (load models) for different types of EVV considering their inherent properties as both a pure load and an energy storage, including geographical/demographical differences. The task aims to look into the future with regards to charging profiles, especially related to freight and public transport. The estimation of charging profiles will be based on data from chargers, battery and relevant parameters, such as temperature, load profile, grid, and technical characteristics of the system of interest.
