Overview interaction i MyCyFAPP

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most common life threatening inherited disease in Europe. There is no cure for CF as yet. However, early diagnosis, regular follow-up by a multidisciplinary team in a specialized CF clinic, correct and timely treatment of symptoms can prolong life and improve the quality of life. The majority of patients suffer from lifelong pancreatic insufficiency leading tomaldigestion of food and malabsorption. Malnutrition and growth stunting can only be avoided by an accurate enzyme replacement therapy and close nutritional follow up.

The EU/H2020 project MyCyFAPP will develop advanced algorithms for personalised and precise enzyme dosage, and a set of ICT tools for educating patients, and for monitoring and controlling their adherence to the treatment and their health conditions.

The project involves a multidisciplinary team consisting of medical experts (e.g., nutritionists, gastroenterologist and biologists) and ICT experts (e.g., HCI experts and SW engineers). Six clinical partners will conduct a multi-centre clinical trial in order to assess the project solution.

MyCyFAPP solution is composed of advanced algorithms for the adjustment of enzymes intake, medical guidelines for professionals, educational guidelines for patients, new patient-supporting, clinical and care protocols, and finally, the technology that allows the implementation of this solution: gaming-oriented mobile and tablet applications for children engagement, self-management mobile applications for (young) adults, and finally, health professional application for the management of the intervention strategies as healthcare service providers.

The expected benefits are a health and nutritional status improvement, a subsequent life quality and wellbeing improvement, and an economic save for the health system and for the patients families.
