The research institutes SINTEF Materials and Chemistry and SINTEF Petroleum Research have merged from 1 January 2018. The new institute is called SINTEF Industry.

Nanomedicine is the medical application of nanotechnology. Nanomedicine is a fast-growing field in SINTEF, ranging from diagnosis to treatment.

We design and produce nanoparticles for enhanced delivery of medicines for treatment of cancer and infections. We combine nanotechnology with ultrasound technology to achieve targeted diagnostics and treatment.

SINTEF has modern infrastructure especially suited for advanced characterization of nanoparticles. We have many years of experience and expertise within cell-based screening technology, toxicology and uptake of nanoparticles, and experience within the use of various animal models for cancer and inflammation.
