Webinar: Managing multiple goals in university-industry collaboration

A key challenge in university-industry collaborations is the partners’ multiple and potentially conflicting goals. This multiplicity of goals can in worst case hamper the collaboration, because the establishment of goals often determines which actions are undertaken. Firms and university partners may disagree on the course of actions to achieve these various goals. Therefore, the collaborative partners need to find a way to manage these different and potentially conflicting goals. This presentation will focus on how multiple goals in research centers can be managed to ensure attainment of mutually beneficial outcomes for the partners involved, at various levels of the collaboration. The presentation is based on qualitative interviews with firm and university partners in FME centers, including FME HighEFF.
