Electrical Power Components; Challenges due to load variations, power electronics and new materials

The webinar will give a general overview of how the electrical power components in the grid may be influenced by increased load variations (e.g. due to introduction of renewable energy sources), new technology (e.g. power electronics), and the introduction of new materials (e.g. environmentally friendly alternatives); and key R&D challenges associated with this. An example from the research in LowEmission - SP3 on the effect of load variations on wet design subsea cables will be presented.
