Our research addresses global health challenges, aiming to improve patient care through sustainable methods. We work closely with hospitals, healthcare providers, municipalities, companies, and other research environments. Our interdisciplinary teams bring together expertise in medical technology, particularly medical imaging, which plays a crucial role in both diagnostics and treatment.

Our competence spans the entire innovation process, from gathering user needs to clinical testing. With over 25 years of collaboration with clinicians, we have developed new solutions in medical technology, leading to the establishment of three commercial companies. Our projects are typically funded by the Research Council of Norway, industry partners, regional health authorities, or the EU.

Our core areas

  • Medical imaging
  • Image-guided intervention and navigation
  • Multimodal image and data analysis
  • Novel ultrasound methods and therapeutic ultrasound
  • AI-guided ultrasound and decision support systems
  • Simulation of blood flow and structural interaction
  • Digital tools for training medical personnel
