Optimization in Energy

Contact person

The design, operation, and maintainance of energy systems are complex tasks for which there is a need for better decision support systems. This is increasingly true as new energy sources, new market mechanisms, and new services drive the need for digitalization. In this field, great savings and increased service levels may be had by exploiting technologies from the domains of artificial intelligence and optimization.

The Optimisation group has several projects in this domain, addressing a range of optimization problems, from Optimal Power Flow to Demand Response scheduling.

Projects

ENERGYTICS

ENERGYTICS

Start:
Slutt:

ENERGYTICS-prosjektet skal demonstrere hvordan maskinlæring og kunstig intelligens kan øke nytteverdien av de nye smarte strømmålerene (AMS) som nettselskap nå installerer i alle norske hjem.

SmartPower

SmartPower

Start:

The goal of the SmartPower project is to demonstrate the usefulness of modern optimisation methods for demand response applications in energy markets. To this end, we develop a prototype for optimised power matching/load balancing in large scale...

Software

Power Grid Optimiser

Power Grid Optimiser

A software for computing the optimal (switch) configuration of power distribution grids. The choice of configuration is critical in many DSO decision processes, from long term investment planning to daily operations.
