Gunnar Brataas

Senior Research Scientist

I work as a senior researcher in the process innovation group at SINTEF Digital. Started in SINTEF in 2006. Has previously worked at NTNU, at Telenor R&D, and in the start-up Clustra AS.

Married with three adult children.

Education

Dr.ing. from NTNU in 1996 with the thesis: Performance Engineering Method for Workflow Systems: An Integrated View of Human and Computerised Work Processes. This thesis describes a method for modeling response times in workflows, with case studies in what currently is St.Olavs Hospital in Trondheim and Equinor in Stavanger.

M.Sc. in software engineering at NTH (now NTNU) in 1990.

Competence and research areas

Currently works with a structured method for characterizing needs and requirements in public procurement. Also works with needs and requirements for operations in governmental agencies: are these needs in line with public clouds, or should they also operate their own software and hardware?

Has previously made an agile method for engineering software scalability and a method for agile elicitation of software scalability requirements. Has worked with software performance engineering since 1990.
