A senior researcher in combinatorial optimization, Atle has a broad skill set, covering both the science (mathematical modelling and research in optimization methods), software development, project aquisition, and project management. He has also been the leader of the Optimization research group.
Education
Atle has a master in theoretical physics, and a PhD in applied mathematics (optimization), both from the University of Oslo.
Competence and research areas
Atle's competense covers mathematical modelling, decomposition methods, constraint programming, matheuristics, and various forms of meta-heuristics.
His research has mainly been applied in the areas of energy distribution, health care logistics, transportation, and agriculture.
