En typisk arbeidsdag hos oss innebærer:
- Planlegging og gjennomføring av forskingsoppgaver
Planlegge forskningsaktiviteter i team, og planlegge testoppsett sammen med våre laboratorieingeniører, følge opp selv og med andre.
- Analyse og tolkning av data
Bruke (numeriske) modeller og analyseverktøy for å tolke og forstå data og forsøksresultater, beskrive korrosjonsmekanismer.
- Kontakt med industrien
Håndtere forespørsler og utarbeide tilbud, bistå i problemløsning og utvikling av nye løsninger, skape nye prosjektmuligheter og følge opp disse.
- Prosjektledelse
Lede selv, og bidra i, tverrfaglige prosjekter, inkludert budsjettering, HMS, ressursallokering, fremdriftsrapportering og kvalitetssikring.
- Publisering og formidling
Utarbeide tekniske rapporter, vitenskapelige artikler og presentere funn.
- Fremme samarbeid med andre
Treffe industri og akademiske partnere på tverrfaglige fora, både nasjonalt og internasjonalt, veilede MSc, PhD-er, etc.
Vi ser etter deg som oppfyller flere av følgende krav:
- Har en PhD innen materialteknologi, kjemi, mekanikk, metallurgi eller fysikk, med fordypning i elektrokjemi – gjerne med fokus på korrosjon.
- Har nylig fullført din doktorgrad, eller har relevant erfaring fra forskning i industrien.
- Har forståelse for ulike korrosjonsmekanismer og relatert elektrokjemi.
- Har erfaring i bruk av elektrokjemiske målemetoder og karakterisering.
- Besitter kompetanse eller har interesse i testing og karakterisering av metalliske materialer.
- Har interesse for numerisk modellering og simulering.

Researcher/Senior Researcher
Are you prepared for a thrilling career in materials science at Norway's leading workplace, SINTEF?
We seek an inquisitive team member to become part of our globally renowned research setting in Trondheim. In this role, you will engage in research, studies, and testing of metallic materials, concentrating on corrosion within compelling projects for the Research Council of Norway, the EU, industry, and other entities.
A typical workday with us involves:
- Planning and executing research tasks
Organizing research activities within teams and collaborating with our laboratory engineers to establish tests, while independently following up and coordinating with others.
- Data analysis and interpretation
Employing (numerical) models and analytical tools to interpret and comprehend data and experimental outcomes, detailing corrosion mechanisms.
- Industry engagement
Managing inquiries and preparing proposals, aiding in problem resolution and the development of innovative solutions, generating new project opportunities and ensuring follow-up.
- Project oversight
Leading and participating in interdisciplinary projects, which encompass budgeting, health and safety considerations, resource allocation, progress tracking, and quality control.
- Publication and dissemination
Drafting technical reports, scientific papers, and presenting results.
- Fostering collaboration with others
Engaging with industry and academic partners at interdisciplinary forums, both domestically and internationally, mentoring MSc and PhD students, among others.
We are looking for someone who meets several of the following requirements:
- Holds a PhD in materials technology, chemistry, mechanics, metallurgy, or physics, with a focus on electrochemistry, ideally concentrating on corrosion.
- Recently completed a PhD or has pertinent experience from (industrial) research.
- Demonstrates knowledge of different corrosion mechanisms and associated electrochemistry.
- Has experience with electrochemical measurement techniques and characterization.
- Possesses skills or shows interest in testing and characterizing metallic materials.
- Exhibits an interest in numerical modelling and simulation.
