Software Process Improvement: Results and Experience from the Field

Abstract

This book reports on results and experience from three Norwegian, industrial R&D project on Software Process Improvement (SPI) - SPIQ, PROFIT and SPIKE - with emphasis on the latter. The book is organized in five sections, with totally 20 previously published papers. Section 1 is about SPI principles/general, and has 5 papers. Section 2: Knowledge Management for SPI and has 5 papers. Section 3 is about Process Modelling and Electronic Process Guides and has 4 papers. Section 4 is about Estimation Methods and has 3 papers. Section 5 is about Empirical Studies in OO and Component-based Systems and has 3 papers. The audience is software professionals as well as researchers and graduate students.
