Multilevel learning from accidents. Case studies in transportation

Abstract

Based on a pilot study of three Norwegian accident investigations in transportation (aviation, marine, rail) the paper discusses lessons to be learned about impacts on multilevel learning from these accidents. The results are about impacts from recommended remedial actions, the investigation processes, and also contextual and situational aspects influencing learning.
