Impact of wakes on floating wind turbines in a shared mooring system

Abstract

This work examines the importance of including turbulent wake in a park with 7 floating wind turbines with a flexible shared mooring system. Turbulent wake is generated with the Dynamic Wake Meandering (DWM) method for 7 fixed turbines. Dynamic analyses with both wind and waves are carried out to examine the influence of the wake meandering. Yaw response is of particular interest, but other floater responses and line tensions are also considered.
