Retail Supply Chain: Transport Dashboard

Abstract

The report addresses a user centered approach for the
elaboration of user needs and the related functional requirements for collaboration and coordination support in the supply chains of one of the largest retailers in Norway.
The user needs are defined by paper prototypes of a transport dashboard, co-created With and validated by actors in the supply chain during an iterative incremental process.
Representatives from all relevant actors have participated (producers, transport service providers, retailers and various roles in the wholesaler's organisation). In general, more robust and automated solutions for coordination and collaboration in the supply chains were requested. The paper prototypes suggest unified solutions that 1) provide easy and automated access to the right information at the right time for all actors in the supply chain by means of a dashboard providing the relevant views on the supply chain; 2) support easy detection of deviations; and 3) support decisions that can improve efficiency and deviation handling. Based on the users' needs, functional requirements to a transport dashboard with different views on information and statuses are identified.
