Operational Safety Condition

Abstract

It is common knowledge that incidents and accidents often are caused by failures of operational barriers. The Risk level project has demonstrated this clearly for hydrocarbon leaks. A concept study of) Operational Safety condition (OTS) has been prepared in 2006. The purpose of the OTS system is to provide an assessment of the operational safety condition with respect to major hazard risks in process plants The OTS study builds heavily on the TTS methodology and the BORA project, and is aimed at development of a grading system for status of operational barriers and risk influencing factors. The study was aimed to operation of the hydrocarbon process systems, and the risk of introducing hydrocarbon leaks during operation and maintenance activities.
