Incorporation of CO2 into Fine Chemicals

Abstract

This presentation will give an overview of the state-of-the-art for the transformation of CO2 into industrially useful chemicals. ""Fine chemicals"" will in this instance mean molecules that can incorporate the entire CO2 molecule.  Since catalysis plays a central role in these chemistries, areas where catalyst development is required will also be addressed, in addition to areas where research in materials chemistry and process development are needed.  The presentation will cover both viable technologies where relatively short-term development may result in industrial opportunities, and potentially interesting chemistries which require long-term fundamental research.
