How can Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) support EU water operators in implementing the Critical Entities Resilience (CER) Directive?

Abstract

This research explores the multifaceted ways in which IAM can facilitate compliance and strengthen resilience in the water sector. IAM emerges as a crucial ally for EU water operators in implementing the CER Directive. By fostering a proactive approach to risk management, optimizing asset performance, and leveraging technological advancements, IAM not only supports regulatory compliance but also enhances the overall resilience of water systems. As the EU continues to navigate increasing environmental and operational challenges, the integration of IAM into the operational frameworks of water utilities will be instrumental in ensuring the provision of safe, reliable water services in a resilient and sustainable manner.
