Innovations from FME CINELDI

Abstract

The research centre CINELDI (2016-2024) has resulted in 50 innovations. Throughout the centre period, the industry has strengthened its ability to adopt research results. Collaboration between grid companies facing similar challenges and innovation needs holds great potential. CINELDI has defined innovation as something new, being useful and utilised for value creation. Innovations from CINELDI include models, methods and tools, algorithms, test framework /lab set-ups, technologies, reference grids, scenario toolbox, roadmap, product or new/ improved work processes. There are 31 innovations from research activities and 19 from pilot projects. The research-based innovations are mainly models, methods and tools, and test framework /lab set-ups, categorised on lower TRL, mostly 3-5. The pilot project-based innovations are mainly methods, tools, algorithms, and products, with TRL typically 6-9. The report includes information about performance indicators, as used by the Research Council of Norway, such as industry-oriented R&D results, introduction of new/improved technology and commercial results. The pilot projects have resulted in commercial results such as registered patents, finalised products, processes and services. There is also one research-based innovation that is developed into a commercial product.
