SafeLiMAR Kicks Off in Trondheim!
The Collaborative and Knowledge‑building Project (KSP) SafeLiMAR will officially kick off in Trondheim on
16 June 2026
The kick‑off event will bring together the project’s industry and research partners for an inspiring start to this important initiative.
The programme includes visits to two state‑of‑the‑art laboratories, giving participants a hands‑on look at cutting‑edge research environments. First, we will visit SINTEF Energy, where testing of electrical power components and insulation materials will be carried out. The second stop is the ZEB Laboratory, a unique facility where NTNU and SINTEF conduct full‑scale testing of office buildings designed for zero emissions.
Beyond the lab visits, the kick‑off will focus on building strong collaboration. Partners will get to know each other, align expectations, and discuss how we can work together to successfully achieve the project’s objectives.
SafeLiMAR aims to make lithium‑ion battery systems safer in the maritime sector by improving design practices, operational procedures, and overall competence. The project takes an interdisciplinary approach, combining experimental and theoretical research with insights into how people, technology, and organisations interact in real‑world settings.
With a broad and diverse group of partners and stakeholders, SafeLiMAR brings together extensive experience and expertise to tackle safety challenges and contribute to a safer, more sustainable maritime future.
We look forward to an exciting and productive kick‑off in Trondheim!
