The project takes a closer look at how local and regional food production can play a more significant role in societal preparedness.
Through surveys, interviews, and workshops with farmers, municipalities, the Armed Forces in the Fosen region, and regional authorities, we have explored both the opportunities and the challenges associated with increasing the use of locally produced food.
The findings show strong engagement and considerable potential, but also highlight the need for improved logistics, more predictable agreements, and better use of the flexibility within public procurement regulations.
The project provides a knowledge base for further efforts to strengthen food security, local value creation, and cooperation between civilian and military actors — both in everyday situations and in times of crisis.
