REPLAN

REPLAN's main objective was to develop efficient methods, models and tools (prototypes) for techno-economic analysis of future renewal needs in power grids, preferably 11–22 kV distribution grids.

Contact person

The methods, models and prototypes developed in REPLAN shall contribute to sound knowledge- and risk-based strategies and decisions regarding cost-effective renewal of power grids. The results from the analyses shall simplify the grid companies' preparation of renewal strategies and plans, both at the component level and at the company level. Strategies and plans shall reflect given preferences with regard to risk level concerning economy, quality of supply, safety and environment, the need to smooth out renewal peaks, etc.

REPLAN shall contribute to better utilisation of knowledge and NIS/GIS data that grid companies already collect today.

By including new technology and smart components in renewal scenarios, it will be possible to analyse the profitability and potential of such solutions.

Assessment of renewal strategies at the company level will cover many issues, criteria and trade-offs. In the project, work was done on suitable ways of presenting decision support through visualisation and structuring of information.
