Cod Atlantic

The project is a collaboration between several Norwegian and international research institutions and cod fish farmers. The goal is to identify chemical and microbiological characteristics and molecular mechanisms for the successful metamorphosis of cod juveniles.

Contact person

Small-scale experiments at SINTEF / NTNU has shown that cultured copepods gives better growth, survival and stress tolerance in cod. Feeding with Copepods in a short period (7 days) also provides better growth, survival and stress tolerance than rotifers. Growth in tanks that were fed with copepods was significantly higher already 8 days after hatching.
