In this project we have made an exploratory, qualitative study in which we have followed a group of young adults through one year with repeated interviews. The aim of the project was to find out how users of mental health services experience the services that they receive over time, and to what extent and in what way their patient-/user pathway is characterized by continuity and coherence versus disruption.

Comprehensive and coordinated services are important for people with mental illnesses and complex problems. Although continuity and cooperation has been emphasized in health policy objectives and reforms in recent years, mental health service users often experience that services are fragmented.
