Health and Welfare Services for Young People during and after Cancer Treatment

Young people affected by cancer are dependent on help and follow-up from various health and welfare services over a long periode of time, both during and after cancer treatment. This group is particularly vulnerable as they are often in a phase of life were many choices and experiences about education and employment are made. A long periode of illness and treatment during adolescence can have serious consequences for in terms of education and future work opportunities.

We know little about how and to what extent young people's needs for appropriate help and follow-up are addressed in to make sure that this group is  reintegratedinto society.

The purpose of this project is to investigate the group's non-medical needs during and after treatment, and to what extent the services meet their needs, as the users themselves experience it.
