Optimal Solutions for Protection, Control and Automation in the Power System

The purpose of the project was to contribute to finding optimal investments in protection, control and automation (PCA) in the power system, reduce costs related to operation and maintenance, and control interruption costs.

Contact person

The project covered all grid levels, 1 – 420 kV.

The project had two subprojects:

  • Opportunities and potentials of new technology (PCA and ICT) and functionality
  • Methods, models and decision support for finding optimal PCA solutions
