The research institutes SINTEF Materials and Chemistry and SINTEF Petroleum Research have merged from 1 January 2018. The new institute is called SINTEF Industry.

The merger is aimed at strengthening our industrial and cross-disciplinary profile and ensuring that we become an even better R&D partner for our customers.

The name SINTEF Industry underpins our vision "Technology for a better society" and the fact that we, in close collaboration with customers, develop solutions within a range of industries – including the chemical industry, oil and gas, advanced materials, manufacturing and the health care industry.
